Convinced
that there was a need to explore the problem of anger
from a Christian perspective - Lynette J. Hoy, NCC, LCPC,
marriage and family counselor, developed and presented
the What's
Good About Anger? seminars for
churches, Rapha and AACC conferences from 1997-2001.
Ted Griffin,
Editor, Lay Counselor, writer and friend collaborated
with Lynette to author the first edition. They were
granted permission to use portions (triggers, causes
of anger)
from the B.A.R.K.
(Behavioral Anger Reduction Kit) training
materials
for counselors written by Gary Gintner, Ph.D., a professor
at Louisiana State
University for the book.
As Lynette and Ted offered seminars and workshops based
on the book - they realized a growing need to write the
second and third expanded editions for
the community in
general. The second edition was published in 2006 (sold-out) and another
expanded third edition in 2010. The What's Good About Anger? Expanded Workbook published Oct. 2011 includes the best strategies and content of the third edition book with in-depth appllication questions and activities!
